40 IDF Dual Carburetor Kit

The Weber/Redline 43-7317 is a dual 40 IDF carburetor kit designed to enhance the performance and drivability of dual port upright-based engines for street and off-road use. This kit provides precise tuning capabilities through its removable jets, emulsion tubes, and venturis. The kit includes Weber 40 IDF carburetors (without velocity stacks), an aluminum alloy hex bar linkage with steel ball ends, sealed aircraft heim rod ends, high-flow aluminum intake manifolds, and gauze high-flow air cleaner assemblies. It also comes with a coil mount, hardware, and gaskets, along with detailed, illustrated instructions. These Weber carburetors offer ultimate engine tuning with total air and fuel metering and adjustment. The IDF-XE Plus Series IDF's have separate idle and main circuits with changeable air and fuel jets. Intake air is metered by changeable venturis, and the accelerator pump is adjustable for maximum acceleration. Jets, gaskets, and repair parts are readily available worldwide. All kits are pre-jetted for VW engines, with recommendations to choose the appropriate size carburetor for your application. Installation notes indicate that the kit may not fit with the stock fan shroud without modification. It will not work on Bus or Type 3 models with pancake style engines. Additionally, some Beetles manufactured between '75-'79 were fuel injected and may require different components.
