4032 Aluminum Piston Set

The Summit Racing™ Coated Forged Pistons offer a durable and cost-effective solution for engine rebuilds, combining the strength of forged construction with the affordability of cast pistons. These pistons are meticulously crafted from 4032 aluminum, an alloy renowned for its silicon content. This composition effectively manages thermal expansion, enabling tighter piston-to-wall clearances. The result is a reduction in piston wobble, minimized noise, enhanced piston ring seating, and an extended lifespan for both the skirts and pin bores. This coating is particularly beneficial during cold starts and in instances of engine overheating. The pistons are engineered with a flat top and two valve reliefs, and come with press-fit or floating wrist pins and retainers. They have a 3.800 in. bore, 3.622 in. stroke, and a 1.331 in. compression height. These pistons are sold as a set of 8 and are designed for Gen. 3 Press-fit rod applications. While these specific pistons come with .945 in. pins, variants for Gen. 4 full-floating connecting rods with .9433 in. pins are available in the Summit Pro LS forged piston line. They are compatible with applications from 1967 and up.
