This cooler has a GVWR of 40,000 pounds and utilizes 3/8″ inverted hex flare fittings, accommodating 6 or 8 AN lines and fittings.

The Tru Cool Max LPD47391 (also known as the Tru Cool 40k) is a high-capacity transmission cooler engineered for heavy-duty applications in trucks and SUVs. It boasts a robust double-brazed aluminum construction with precisely spaced fins to optimize airflow and enhance cooling efficiency. With 13 cooling rows, this cooler is designed to keep transmission temperatures in check, even under demanding conditions. This transmission cooler is rated for a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of up to 40,000 pounds and features 3/8″ inverted hex flare fittings, which allow for the use of 6 or 8 AN lines and fittings for a secure connection and improved fluid capacity. The cooler's substantial size and cooling capabilities also allow it to be used as a standalone transmission cooler, bypassing the stock unit if desired. The standard LPD47391 model does not include a thermal bypass, while the LPD4739 variant does, which helps the transmission fluid reach optimal operating temperatures quicker, particularly beneficial in colder climates. A universal installation kit is included, which contains rubber transmission line, fittings, clamps, and mounting hardware, simplifying the installation process. While the kit provides various fittings, additional components may be necessary to achieve the best fit for specific applications. This cooler is recommended for full-size trucks, SUVs, and performance vehicles requiring superior ATF fluid cooling.
