The EMPI 40mm HPMX Dual Carburetor Kit is a high-performance fueling system designed for Type 1 dual port engines. This kit includes two 40mm EMPI HPMX carburetors, aluminum intake manifolds, chrome air cleaners with high-flow gauze elements, and a hex-bar linkage system.

EMPI's Deluxe HPMX Carburetor Kits are engineered for both performance and fuel economy, featuring 28mm venturis for a balanced output. The kit comes complete with velocity stacks, carburetor linkage, gaskets, fuel line, and all necessary hardware for installation. It is noted that all EMPI HPMX carburetor kits are sold for off-road use only and are non-returnable.

The EMPI 40mm HPMX Dual Carburetor Kit is a premium upgrade for Type 1 dual port engines, offering a significant boost in performance and efficiency. The kit includes precisely matched aluminum intake manifolds, stylish chrome air cleaners with high-flow gauze elements, and a robust hex-bar linkage system for smooth throttle response. Engineered with 28mm venturis, these carburetors provide an optimal blend of fuel economy and performance, making them a true champ for both street and off-road applications. The kit's design ensures a good fit under the deck lid of vehicles like the Beetle, Van, and Karmann Ghia (with hood spring removal). Included in the kit are velocity stacks, carburetor linkage, essential gaskets, fuel line, and all necessary hardware. EMPI specifies that all HPMX carburetor kits are sold for off-road use only and are non-returnable. Buyers are advised to ensure their fuel system is thoroughly cleaned and all fuel hoses and filters are replaced before installation to prevent issues with the new carburetors. A critical fitment note: this kit is designed for dual port engines and WILL ONLY FIT with an aftermarket 36hp style fan shroud. It will NOT fit with a stock shroud. The intake manifolds are standard type.
