4340 H-Beam Forged Connecting Rods

Integrated Engineering Forged Connecting Rods are engineered to be a robust replacement for factory components in high-output VW VR6 engines. Constructed from vacuum-drawn, two-piece 4340 chrome moly steel, these rods feature an upgraded H-beam design that significantly enhances strength and durability. They are computer-optimized for specific engine applications and honed to exacting tolerances within 250 millionths of an inch, ensuring proper bearing operation and longevity. Each set is balanced to within +/- 1 gram. These connecting rods are designed to handle the stress of power modifications, with a tested capability of supporting over 700HP on 6-cylinder engines. They come standard with IE Spec ARP 2000 rod bolts, stamped with "IE" for authenticity. The design utilizes a 20mm wrist pin, requiring compatible pistons. Optional rifle drilling for forced pin oiling is available separately and is recommended for street-driven applications to extend wrist pin life. The fitment includes VW GTI, Golf, Jetta, and Corrado models equipped with 2.8L 12V VR6 (engine codes AAA, AFP) and 2.8L 24V VR6 (engine code BDF) engines, spanning model years from 1988 to 2005. Installation requires the use of compatible 20mm wrist pin pistons and new connecting rod bearings. For those planning to exceed 8500 RPM, an upgrade to ARP 625+ bolts is suggested.
