The Indy Cylinder Heads 440-1 Max Wedge Assembled Heads are engineered to significantly enhance power for the 440 Wedge engine, particularly for serious bracket racers and street/strip applications. Since their introduction in 1992, these heads have become a popular choice, transforming power-deprived engines into formidable machines with their distinctive heart-shaped combustion chamber. Designed for optimal performance in engines ranging from 451 to 540 cubic inches, these assembled heads are capable of generating 650HP to 850HP with a single carburetor setup, delivering great torque and contributing to lower shift points. The heads feature a long valve design and boast a 310cc intake port volume, representing a 110cc increase over stock, alongside a 110cc exhaust port volume. The intake valve measures 2.19 inches in diameter, and the exhaust valve is 1.81 inches. The valve angle is a stock 15 degrees with the stock valve location, and the combustion chamber volume is 75cc, with the option to mill down to 62cc. These assembled heads come standard with springs capable of handling hydraulic flat tappet cams up to .600 lift. For those seeking higher performance, an upgrade is available for solid, hydraulic, or roller springs that can accommodate up to .750-inch lift. The product utilizes a .800-inch offset intake rocker with a 1.5 or 1.6 ratio and is machined to accept stock rocker shafts or Jesel rockers.
