440-1 Max Wedge Assembled Aluminum Cylinder Head

The Indy Cylinder Heads 440-1 Max Wedge is an assembled aluminum cylinder head designed for the 440 Wedge engine. Introduced in 1992, this head features a newly designed heart-shaped combustion chamber. It is recommended for bracket engines in the 451 to 540 cubic inch range, capable of producing 650HP to 850HP with a single carburetor.

Key specifications include a 310cc intake port volume, which is 110cc larger than stock, and an exhaust port volume of 110cc. The head utilizes a stock 15-degree valve angle and stock valve location, with a 2.19-inch intake valve diameter and an 1.81-inch exhaust valve diameter. It comes with springs suitable for hydraulic flat tappet cams up to .600 lift, with an upgrade option for springs good up to .750-inch lift for solid or roller cams. The head also features a stock 440 exhaust bolt pattern and accepts all Indy intake manifolds.
