The Mikuni HSR45-3 is a 45mm flat slide carburetor engineered to deliver superior throttle response and power output for V-Twin engines. This carburetor, manufactured in Japan by Genuine Mikuni, features a smoothbore design with a roller-bearing two-piece slide for smooth operation. Its spigot mount and 49mm engine-side sizing, coupled with a 65mm intake bell diameter, make it suitable for various performance applications. This carburetor includes an accelerator pump for improved low-end response and is designed with mid-range jetting for straightforward installation on a wide variety of motorcycles. It comes without an intake manifold, cables, and air cleaner, allowing for customization to specific applications. The standard finish body offers a natural look on most stock bikes. While developed for Harley-Davidson engines, including Big Twin, Twin Cam, Sportster, and Buell models from specific years (e.g., 1990-2004 for many models), it can be adapted to other applications requiring this size and type of carburetor. Note that stock throttle cables from 1990 and later Big Twins can typically be used, but 1984 to 1989 models may require new cables from a 1990 to 1995 model. The manufacturer also offers various kit options and rebuild components for this carburetor series.
