48RE Stage 6 Transmission Package

The ATS Diesel 48RE Stage 6 Package is engineered to reinforce the 48RE transmission, a common failure point in Dodge Cummins trucks, even with minor upgrades. This comprehensive package targets the transmission's weak spots to provide a stronger and more reliable drivetrain component capable of handling heavy loads, demanding commutes, and high-horsepower applications. Key enhancements include increased clutch count in the Forward, Overdrive, and Overdrive Brake clutch packs, utilizing high-strength Borg Warner and Raybestos materials for superior torque capacity and longevity. Hard parts are upgraded, with the factory strut anchor replaced by a billet unit for more precise band application, and the plastic accumulator piston is swapped for a billet version. A 1:5.0 ratio apply arm is included, working with a Borg Warner Red Lining band featuring a performance friction material. The valve body undergoes extensive modifications, enabling torque converter lockup in 1st and 2nd gears, fluid circulation in park/reverse/neutral, a machined TV valve passage with a proprietary sleeve, and increased line pressure. Customers can choose between a towing valve body for smooth, crisp shifts suitable for street use and towing, or a race valve body for aggressive, fast shifts in high-performance applications. For the race version, an ATS billet input shaft and flex plate are recommended. This package is specifically designed for early 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500 4WD models with a build date before 5/2006 and a 5.9L diesel engine. It includes the ATS Built 48-RE Auto Trans, ATS 5 Star Viskus Clutch Drive Torque Converter, ATS Extra Deep Transmission Pan, ATS Billet Input Shaft, ATS CoPilot Torque Converter Lock-Up Controller, ATS Billet Flex Plate, ATS Billet Intermediate Shaft, and ATS Billet Output Shaft.
