48RE Valve Body Repair Kit

The TransGo 48RE SHIFT KIT® is a valve body repair kit engineered to enhance the performance and durability of 48RE automatic transmissions. This kit is compatible with all 48RE transmissions found in 2003-2008 Dodge and Ram vehicles, regardless of whether they are equipped with a gas or diesel engine. This kit specifically targets common complaints associated with the 48RE transmission, including TCC slip or shudder, 2nd gear band failure, 3rd clutch failure, and torque converter drain-back. With maximum main line pressure set to 115 psi in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear, and up to 160 psi in 4th or lock-up, the kit provides significant improvements for heavy-duty work trucks and towing applications. The installation can be performed with the transmission in the truck, or internal sealing rings are provided for bench overhauls. This kit corrects and prevents TCC slip or shudder, reduces converter drain-back, and addresses 2nd band and 3rd clutch failures. It also improves TCC engagement feel and provides short, clean shifts without harshness. The package includes high-temperature sealing rings, accumulator springs, a throttle valve spring, a USA-made hardened steel manual valve, and various other components to rebuild and enhance the valve body.
