The Chevrolet Performance 4L65E is a robust four-speed automatic overdrive transmission, specifically engineered for LS crate engines and LS engine swaps. For those adapting it to earlier Small Block or Big Block engines, the proper torque converter, installation kit, and a transmission controller are necessary. This unit boasts a heavy-duty five-pinion gear set, a heat-treated stator shaft, and an induction-hardened turbine pump shaft, contributing to its durability. Internally, the 4L65E features a seven-plate kit for the three-four clutch pack, enhancing its performance and longevity. It is rated to handle up to 430 ft-lbs of torque. Please note that the torque converter is not included and must be purchased separately. For operation, a GM transmission controller is required. Specifically, use Part Number 19302405 for Chevrolet Performance LS Crate Engines and LS Engine Swaps. For SBC and BBC engines with a carburetor, up to 430 ft-lbs of torque, use Transmission Controller Part Number 19332775. The transmission's gear ratios are as follows: 1st gear - 3.06, 2nd gear - 1.62, 3rd gear - 1.00, and 4th gear - 0.70. This transmission is a remanufactured unit, ensuring quality and reliability.
