The fully mechanical 4x Four-Speed Auto Transmission (non-electronic 700R4-based) includes an adapter flexplate, transmission cooler, dipstick, and all necessary hardware. TCI's 4x Four-Speed Automatic Transmission Series allows the use of popular 4L80E or 700R4 transmissions with non-GM performance applications. Both 4L80E and 700R4 versions feature an SFI-spec adapter bellhousing for installation behind Small or Big Block Ford, Ford Mod, Small or Big Block Chrysler, Gen III Hemi, Buick, Pontiac, Olds, or Chevrolet Small/Big Block engines. The electronic overdrive 4L80E-based version, rated to 875 HP, includes an adapter flexplate for engine crankshaft bolt patterns and GM torque converters, compatible with original GM transmission controllers or a TCI EZ-TCU. The mechanical 700R4-based version, designed for street rodders, is available in 550 HP and 750 HP levels. Application-specific kits do not require a transmission controller and use a Constant Pressure Valve Body to eliminate the need for a TV cable, a common source of 700R4 failure. A compact design allows fitment in most applications without tunnel modifications.
