The TCI Automotive 4x Four-Speed transmission is a robust, non-electronic automatic transmission designed to bring the reliability of the 700R4 to non-GM applications. This performance-oriented unit is specifically engineered to pair with an 8-Bolt Ford Mod engine, featuring an SFI-spec adapter bellhousing for straightforward installation. It is built to handle up to 550 horsepower, making it suitable for many street rod and performance applications. This transmission utilizes a Constant Pressure Valve Body, which inherently fixes line pressure. This design eliminates the risk of low line pressure conditions, a common failure point in standard 700R4 transmissions, thus enhancing durability. The fully mechanical nature means it does not require an external transmission controller, simplifying the installation process. TCI includes essential components such as an adapter flexplate, a transmission cooler, a dipstick, and all necessary hardware to complete the installation. The design prioritizes a compact form factor, aiming to fit into most applications without requiring extensive tunnel modifications. The package includes the transmission base, the SFI-spec bellhousing, a transmission cooler, a dipstick, a TV cable, and three gallons of Max-Shift transmission fluid. The transmission is constructed with a cast aluminum casing and comes in a gray finish. It offers four gears with a first gear ratio of 3.06, second gear ratio of 1.62, and a third gear ratio of 1.00. The shaft spline quantity is 30. This transmission meets or exceeds OEM specifications and comes with a 12-month warranty.
