The Ford Performance Racing Crate Engine is a modern 5.0L 32-valve DOHC V-8, derived from the 2024 Mustang GT. It utilizes advanced technologies including direct and port fuel injection, twin independent variable camshaft timing (Ti-VCT), high-flow cylinder heads, and dual throttle bodies to achieve its impressive power output. The engine is rated at 480 horsepower and 415 lb.-ft. of torque when using premium fuel. Constructed with a lightweight plasma transferred wire arc spray aluminum cylinder block, this engine is built for durability. It features cross-bolted main bearing caps and thick main bearing bulkheads for enhanced bottom-end strength. The oil system is optimized for drainback and windage control, contributing to improved high-rpm performance. It is specifically noted that for an engine equipped with an automatic flex plate, the M-6007-M50DAUTO variant should be used instead. This engine does not include the vehicle harness or PCM, and users should utilize the Ford Performance M-6017-M50D Control Pack for these components.
