The Ford Performance 5.0L Coyote Gen 4 crate engine is a modern all-aluminum V-8 engine based on the 2024 Mustang GT. This powerhouse boasts 480 horsepower at 7,150 rpm and over 415 ft.-lb. of torque at 4,900 rpm, utilizing advanced features like direct and port fuel injection, and twin independent variable camshaft timing (Ti-VCT). Its lightweight aluminum block incorporates plasma transferred wire arc spray weld liner coating and cross-bolted main bearing caps for enhanced durability and high-rpm performance. Key internal components include Hypereutectic aluminum pistons, sintered steel connecting rods (as used on the BOSS302 Mustang), and a robust forged steel crankshaft. The engine features high-flow aluminum cylinder heads with dual overhead camshafts (DOHC) and four valves per cylinder. A tuned composite intake manifold contributes to efficient air delivery and weight savings, complemented by twin 80 mm drive-by-wire electronic throttle bodies with variable runner control. This crate engine comes with an engine harness and a production flexplate for automatic transmission compatibility. For manual transmission applications, the M-6007-M50D model with a dual-mass flywheel is recommended. The engine mount bosses and bell housing pattern are common to 5.0L modular engines. A Mustang GT 409 stainless steel tubular exhaust manifold is included for the right side only, with a note that the driver side exhaust flange utilizes the 5.2L pattern. Installation requires additional components. A Ford Performance M-6017-M50DAUTO Control Pack, which includes the necessary wiring, PCM, and installation kit, is required for project car installations.
