The Toyota 1GZ-FE is a 5.0-liter, all-alloy, naturally aspirated V12 engine, notable as the only production 12-cylinder ever built by a mainstream Japanese automaker. It is constructed with a 60-degree V12 configuration, featuring DOHC valvetrain, 48 valves, and quad cams. With a total displacement of 4,996 cc (304.9 cu in), the 1GZ-FE boasts a bore of 81 mm and a stroke of 80.8 mm. It operates with a compression ratio of 11.8:1, delivering a peak torque of 355 lb-ft at 4,000 rpm and has a redline of 6,000 RPM. While officially limited to just under 280 hp, post-sale dyno numbers have reached over 300 horsepower. The primary focus of this engine is smoothness rather than ultimate power output. It was used in vehicles like the Toyota Century.
