Overview

The Lexus 2UR-GSE is a remanufactured V8 engine designed for the 2008-2014 Lexus IS-F. It features a 5.0L displacement and meets or exceeds OEM specifications.

The remanufacturing process includes deep cleaning, magnaflux inspection for cracks, CNC machining of deck surfaces, and installation of new bearings, pistons, rings, lifters, oil pump, gaskets, valve seals, and plugs. It also includes a new timing chain or belt and a new water pump if applicable.

The Lexus 2UR-GSE is a fully remanufactured 5.0L V8 engine, specifically built to meet or exceed OEM specifications for the 2008-2014 Lexus IS-F. The remanufacturing process begins with a thorough disassembly and deep cleaning via hot tanking or thermal cleaning. Each engine undergoes rigorous inspection, including Magnaflux testing to detect microscopic cracks and fissures. Following inspection, CNC machining ensures precise deck surfaces, and a comprehensive set of new parts are installed. These include bearings, pistons, rings, lifters, oil pump, gaskets, Viton™ valve seals, freeze plugs, galley plugs, and either a new timing chain with tensioners or a new timing belt with a tensioner. A new water pump is also fitted if the engine design utilizes a timing-driven pump. After reassembly, every engine is SIM tested. This involves fully pressurizing the cooling and oil systems and spinning the crank at high RPM to verify compression and overall build quality. This meticulous process allows Powertrain Products to offer an industry-leading warranty of up to 7 years and 1 million miles, with options for upgraded protection. This remanufactured engine is identified by specific casting numbers: Left Head Cast #2UR, Right Head Cast #2UR, and Block Cast #2UR-GSE.
