The Ford Performance 5.2 Shelby GT350/GT500 Engine Block is a premium component designed for enthusiasts building high-horsepower Ford Coyote engines. This block is the original equipment for the 2020 Shelby Mustang GT350 and 2020+ GT500 models, ensuring direct compatibility and performance. This engine block features a 94.0 mm bore and is constructed with a special high-performance casting to better support demanding engine builds. Enhancements include an updated water jacket below the cylinder bore for increased strength and a cast-in brace on the intake side of the bore at the deck surface, which improves cylinder wall strength and head gasket sealing. The block also utilizes a plasma transferred wire arc spray weld liner coating, which offers improved durability, heat transfer, reduced friction, and weight savings compared to standard Mustang GT aluminum blocks. The cylinder bores are finish-honed and ready for assembly, with all block features, including the head deck and crank bore, being finish-machined. Installation considerations include the use of special 12 mm cylinder head bolts/studs (MMR part #350020) and provisions for piston oil squirters. For those not using oil squirters, MMR part #444906 can be used to block them off. The block includes necessary plugs and dowels. Additionally, upgrades such as ARP GT350 5.2 Head Studs are available.
