5.3L 6.0L Electric Fan Kit w/ 12-Inch Spal Fans

This electric fan kit from PCM of NC is engineered as an aftermarket upgrade for 5.3L and 6.0L Trailblazers, Envoys, and Saabs (GMT360 platform). It replaces the original power-robbing electro-viscous fan with a system of two high-flow 12-inch Spal fans housed in a custom black powder-coated shroud. The shroud utilizes factory mounting points, eliminating the need for drilling or cutting during installation, which is estimated to take approximately 1.5 hours and is rated at an installation difficulty of 2 out of 5. The system offers independent control of each fan by the vehicle's PCM. A three-relay setup is available for kits that bring both fans on at half speed for quieter low-speed operation and full blast for high-speed cooling. For highly modified setups, stroker engines, forced induction, or vehicles operating in hot climates, an HD (heavy-duty) fan upgrade with a thicker, stronger fan is also offered. A software fan patch for the PCM is required for computer control and is included as a voucher with the purchase; PCM of NC offers to perform this patch for free, with the customer covering return shipping. This conversion is reported to provide performance gains of 12-18 RWHP and an improvement of approximately 1 MPG. Due to the potential strain on the electrical system, the purchase of a three-wire battery cable upgrade kit (P-070009 & P-070010) is highly recommended. Additionally, if a manual fan switch is used, fan codes P0480, P0481, and P0483 must be disabled in the tune and set to NO ERROR REPORTING; this can also be performed by PCM of NC when the ECM is sent in.
