5.3L Modular Stroker Short Block

The Ford Performance 5.3L Modular Stroker short block (M-6009-B53) is a precision-engineered engine assembly that increases displacement to 5.3 liters (323 cubic inches) from a 4.6L based Modular architecture. It is internally balanced for use with neutral balance crankshaft dampers and flywheels. Key components include a Ford Performance M-6010-BOSS50 cast iron block, forged aluminum Mahle pistons with a 30.48mm compression height and valve notches, forged H-beam rods, and a forged steel 3.750" stroke crankshaft. It also features Clevite/King rod and main bearings, and a high-volume oil pump. The bore is 3.701" and the stroke is 3.750". Installation notes specify that piston-to-valve clearance must be checked, with a recommended minimum of .100" intake, .125" exhaust, and .060" radial clearance when using high-lift camshafts. A performance oil pan and pickup tube suited for the intended vehicle application are required, with attention to pickup tube to crankshaft and bottom-of-pan clearance. Depending on the front cover application, one specific bolt may need to be omitted.
