5.5-inch Extreme-Duty Suspension System

The Rubicon Express RE6200 Extreme-Duty 5.5-inch suspension system is engineered as a complete replacement suspension for Jeep Cherokee XJs, specifically designed to work with the factory short arm geometry. It aims to offer an ideal balance of affordability, on-road manners, and enhanced off-road performance for trail enthusiasts. This nearly indestructible suspension system is built for heavy trail use. Key components include Extreme-Duty front coil springs and rear leaf springs, new control arms featuring Super-Flex spherical ball joints, and Gen II sway bar disconnects. The heavy-duty track bar and front control arm relocation brackets contribute to improved suspension geometry and flexibility, resulting in a better on-road ride compared to lesser kits. This system is noted as the best XJ lift that retains the factory short arm design and allows for the use of 33 x 10.5 tires. Installation is rated at Level 3 difficulty, requiring advanced mechanic tools and drilling, with an estimated time of 10-12 hours. The kit includes front upper and lower Super-Flex control arms, front coil springs, rear leaf springs, front bump stops, rear U-bolts, rear shackles, a front extreme-duty track bar, front and rear stainless steel brake lines, a front adjustable track bar with bracket, front lower control arm brackets, sway bar relocation brackets, and installation hardware. A Limited Lifetime Warranty is included. For stock NP231 or NP242 transfer cases, installing a slip yoke eliminator and CV drive shaft is recommended. Additionally, lifts over 3.5 inches on a full-time NP242 unit may lead to unacceptable vibrations on the front drive shaft when used in full-time constant 4WD high range. A vehicle alignment is required after installation. Any tire wider than 10.50 inches will need a Back Spacing (BSM) of 4-4.75 inches, and 97-01 Cherokees have smaller fender openings.
