Its core function is to eliminate harmful crankshaft harmonics that can lead to parasitic horsepower loss, thereby improving engine efficiency and reliability at high RPMs. This damper utilizes a proven elastomer that is precisely tuned to achieve this objective. The damper is constructed with a 7.074-inch outer diameter and includes a 4-rib, 5.5-inch serpentine belt drive, allowing for the utilization of the factory serpentine belt setup. It also features 360° laser-etched timing marks for accurate engine timing. All ATI D-series Super Dampers meet or exceed SFI 18.1 Safety Certification standards and are approved for competition use in NHRA and IHRA events. This Super Damper is designed for specific Honda D-series engine applications, including 1992-2000 D15Ax/D16xx models and 2001-2005 D17Ax models. It is also noted to fit 1990-2000 Honda Civic, 1996-2000 Honda Civic DX, and 1996-2005 Honda Civic engines with compatible accessory drive configurations. Installation requires a press fit onto the crank snout using a damper installation kit, as it is not a direct slide-on like OEM crank pulleys. The damper has a total weight of 5.00 lbs and an inertia weight of 3.40 lbs.
