5.7 HEMI VVT Stage 3 Camshaft

The BTR 5.7 HEMI VVT Stage 3 Camshaft is engineered by Brian Tooley Racing for Gen III 2009+ HEMI engines, offering a substantial performance upgrade for naturally aspirated applications. This camshaft is meticulously designed in-house, balancing performance with stability, and has undergone rigorous spintron and dyno testing to validate its durability and power output. It is intended for enthusiasts seeking a noticeable increase in engine performance. With a 220 intake duration at .050" lift, .587" intake valve lift, and a 112 LSA, this camshaft provides a fair amount of idle "rumble" and operates effectively within a 2100-7100 RPM range. BTR claims over 500 HP at the crank for 5.7L HEMI engines and observed peak gains of 82 HP and 71 lb/ft at 6000 RPM on their dyno, with the camshaft continuing to pull strong past 7000 RPM. It also extends the usable operating range by an additional 1600 RPM when paired with an aftermarket torque converter. Installation of this camshaft requires specific components and considerations. A VVT Limiter (BTR-VVT-HEMI-4CAM) is necessary and included with the camshaft. BTR also mandates the use of their aftermarket valve springs (SK017, SK017/TS, or SP021-16) due to the high valve lift and increased RPM potential. For optimal performance and to leverage the VVT control, engine tuning is imperative, with a recommended Holley VVT Target Table available on the cam card. Non-MDS lifters and an MDS conversion are also required, along with specific tools for installation like the BTR GEN III HEMI Valve Spring Compressor Tool and VVT Phaser Tool.
