The Eagle Specialty Products SIR I-Beam Connecting Rod is an upgrade from stock, offering enhanced strength and reliability for performance street engines. Constructed from forged 5140 steel, this I-beam rod measures 5.700 inches center-to-center and features a bushed pin end with a floating wrist pin style and a 0.927-inch pin end bore diameter. These connecting rods are Magnafluxed and shot-peened to stress-relieve the metal and enhance durability. They are designed to handle up to 500 hp and 6,000 rpm. The big end sizing is precisely controlled by in-house CNC equipment for accurate fitment. Each rod is weight-matched to within two grams, and they come equipped with 3/8-inch ARP 8740 chromoly steel bolts, rated at 160,000 psi tensile strength, featuring a 12-point head style. Eagle recommends these SIR rods for naturally-aspirated, pump gas, road car applications. They are sold individually, allowing for custom build configurations or replacement of single damaged components.
