The Toyota 3UR-FE is a 5.7-liter (5,663 cc) V8, four-stroke, water-cooled, naturally aspirated gasoline engine produced by Toyota Motor Corporation since 2006. As part of the UR engine family, it is known for its robust construction, featuring a die-cast aluminum cylinder block and aluminum cylinder heads. The engine's internal architecture includes a five-bearing crankshaft, forged steel crankshaft, and forged connecting rods with resin-coated aluminum bearings. Pistons are made from high-temperature-resistant aluminum alloy and are cooled by oil jets. The 3UR-FE employs a Dual VVT-i system for optimizing intake and exhaust camshaft timing, contributing to its performance and efficiency. It utilizes a Sequential Multi-Point Fuel Injection (SFI) system and a Direct Ignition System (DIS) with individual coils for each spark plug. Other integrated systems include Acoustic Control Induction System (ACIS), Electronic Spark Advance (ESA), and ETCS-i (Electronic Throttle Control System-intelligent). Key performance specifications include a bore of 94.0 mm (3.7 in) and a stroke of 102.0 mm (4.02 in), resulting in a displacement of 5.7 liters. The compression ratio is rated at 10.2:1. Depending on the model year and vehicle application, the 3UR-FE engine can produce between 357 HP (266 kW) and 378 HP (282 kW) at 5,600 rpm, with peak torque ranging from 391 ft-lb (530 N·m) to 402 ft-lb (546 N·m) at lower RPMs. This engine is found in various Toyota and Lexus vehicles, including the Toyota Tundra (2006-), Toyota Sequoia (2007-), Toyota Land Cruiser 200 (2007-), and Lexus LX 570 (2007-). There is one reported instance where an engine from a 2014 Tundra was used to replace a blown engine in a 2008 Land Cruiser and did not work, requiring Toyota technicians to troubleshoot the issue.
