The Merchant Automotive 10186 Transmission Rear Housing Support is a brace designed to prevent rear housing cracking and protect against driveline vibration damage. It is engineered for 2001-2007 GM Silverado and Sierra 2500HD/3500HD models equipped with the 6.6L Duramax or 8.1L engine and an Allison 4x4 transmission.

This support helps stabilize the rear section of the transmission, reducing stress and movement, which is particularly beneficial for trucks experiencing driveline vibrations from worn u-joints or a bent driveshaft. The product includes recommended torque specifications for installation: 35 ft-lbs at the transmission and 27 ft-lbs at the transfer case.
