The Integrated Engineering MK8 / 8Y Air Intake System is designed to enhance airflow and deliver improved turbo noise for your VW MK8 GTI, Golf R, or Audi 8Y S3. Its single-piece turbo inlet eliminates the need for silicone couplers, reducing transitions and power-robbing turbulence. The integrated velocity stack bellmouth shape is engineered for maximum airflow efficiency from the large 5" air filter to the intake piping, a true motorsport design feature aimed at minimizing drag and turbulence. This intake system is designed for easy DIY installation, typically taking 30-45 minutes with basic tools. It features factory-style mounting and an ultra-precise fitment, ensuring it pops into place without guesswork or permanent modifications. Integrated Engineering also provides a heat shield to deflect performance-killing heat by sealing off hot engine bay air, channeling high-pressure outside air directly to the filter. While the standard intake is designed for optimal performance, an optional upgraded 8-pleated filter, treated with penetrating filter oil and covered with a pre-filter sock, is available separately for those operating in harsh climates to combat dirt and sand. Additionally, an optional high-gloss carbon fiber lid is sold separately to enhance the engine bay's appearance. This intake is specifically designed for the following vehicles: 2022-2024 VW GTI (MK8) 2.0T EA888 Gen 4 EVO, 2022-2024 VW Golf R (MK8) 2.0T EA888 Gen 4 EVO, and 2022-2024 Audi S3 (MK8) 2.0T EA888 Gen 4 EVO. Note that GTI engines have a smaller turbo inlet than Golf R/S3 turbos, which accounts for lower documented gains on the GTI compared to the Golf R/S3.
