5" Performance HD Front Mount Intercooler

The VRSF 5" Performance HD Intercooler Upgrade Kit is engineered to replace the factory front mount intercooler in select BMW N54 and N55 powered vehicles. The core of this intercooler is a custom bar and plate design with a high-density, staggered, and offset fin pack, optimized for maximum intake temperature reduction with minimal pressure drop. This contrasts with the OEM tube and fin intercooler, which can be overwhelmed by increased boost levels and airflow, leading to heat soak, power loss, and potential pre-detonation. This performance upgrade is intended to keep intake temperatures down and prevent heat soak, a common issue with the factory intercooler, especially when running higher boost levels or tunes. By maintaining lower intake temperatures, the VRSF intercooler contributes to more consistent power output and increased engine reliability, reducing the likelihood of knock and pre-detonation. The bar and plate construction also offers greater durability against debris compared to the stock unit. The kit includes everything necessary for installation, including the lower charge pipe, couplers, clamps, and mounting hardware. The end tanks are CFD engineered cast aluminum for optimal flow. Installation is straightforward and does not necessitate the removal of the front bumper. This intercooler fits both Left Hand Drive (LHD) and Right Hand Drive (RHD) models, as well as all XI variants. The VRSF 5" Performance HD Intercooler is compatible with the following BMW models: 2007-2013 E90/E91/E92/E93 335i & 335xi, 2011-2013 E92 335is, 2008-2013 E82 135i, and 2012-2015 E84 X1 35i.
