The ARP 100-7706 Wheel Stud Kit is engineered for demanding automotive applications, particularly those involving high-performance wheels and racing environments. These studs are manufactured from premium-grade, heat-treated 8740 chromoly steel, offering a substantial tensile strength of 190,000 psi to withstand extreme forces. Each stud features a cadmium-plated finish for enhanced durability and corrosion resistance. The specifications include a knurl diameter of 0.568 inches, an overall length under hub (UHL) of 2.970 inches, and a knurl length of 0.710 inches. The thread pitch is a standard 1/2-20. For cast iron or steel hubs, the recommended wheel stud hole size is 0.552 to 0.562 inches, with a 14mm (0.551 inch) drill bit size specified. For aluminum hubs, the hole size range is 0.552 to 0.558 inches, also accommodating a 14mm (0.551 inch) drill bit. It is noted that a standard drill bit may be too small, and a reamer may be required to achieve the correct tolerance for the material. This kit is considered universal in its application. It includes five wheel studs, making it suitable for replacing worn or damaged studs on a variety of vehicles and ensuring secure wheel mounting under high stress.
