The Genuine BMW E60 Shift Lever (part number 25117546373) is designed as a standard replacement for E60 models, retaining factory shift throws. Enthusiasts also utilize this part as a budget-friendly short shifter option for various BMW platforms, including the E39 M5, E46 M3, and other E46 5-speed transmissions like the 325i/xi/ci and 330i/xi/ci. For E39 models, it's compatible with 525i, 528i, 530i, 540i, and M5 variants. Additionally, it fits E60 530i, 545i, and 550i models. It is important to note that this shift lever is not compatible with SMG transmissions in the E60 545i, 530i, and 550i. Some users report a noticeable reduction in throw, with one user stating a 40% reduction on their E46. Installation may require reacquainting oneself with the shifter's shorter throws.
