The Motobilt JL Tire Carrier is designed to reinforce the factory tailgate mounting structure with a fully integrated, single-piece design, mounting with 12 points compared to the factory 4. It's built from 3/16 inch laser cut and formed steel to support larger tire and wheel combinations (up to 40-inch tires) and maintains smooth operation using the factory tailgate handle. Adjustable mounting points allow for vertical and front-to-back tire positioning. This carrier is available in multiple lug patterns, including 8 on 6.5 and 8 on 170 (Ford Super Duty), for builders running one-ton axles or heavy-duty wheel and tire combinations. It uses high-density hinge bushings with steel inner liners and greasable pivot points. It works with factory and aftermarket bumpers and integrates with Motobilt accessories and license plate relocation systems.
