The Rockford Fosgate PM500X1bd is a 500 Watt Class-bd mono amplifier engineered for demanding motorsport and marine environments. Its conformal coated circuit board and marine-grade stainless steel hardware provide robust protection against harsh outdoor elements, including dust, UV, temperature, water, corrosion, and vibration. This amplifier is specifically optimized for low-frequency audio reproduction, making it an excellent choice for powering mid-bass speakers or subwoofers. It boasts a 1-ohm capability, allowing it to effectively drive a pair of 4-ohm DVC subwoofers or a quad configuration of 2-ohm DVC subwoofers. The Class-bd technology ensures high efficiency and dynamic power output. Key features include a C.L.E.A.N. setup system with input and output clip indicators, a stealth top-mounted control panel, and on-board Punch EQ with an adjustable bass boost up to +18dB at 45Hz. For signal management, it offers a 12dB/octave Butterworth low-pass crossover (50-250Hz) and a 28Hz infrasonic filter. It also provides RCA pass-thru outputs and is optional remote Punch Level Control (PLC2) ready. The PM500X1bd is CTA-2006 compliant, ensuring its power ratings are accurate and reliable. It requires 4 AWG power wire and an 80A recommended fuse (not included). The amplifier is designed with a cast aluminum heatsink for efficient cooling and features multiple protection circuits, including short circuit, over current, and thermal protection.
