The PerTronix D1100 Street/Strip HEI Distributor is a high-performance ignition component designed to replace stock HEI distributors in Oldsmobile V8 engines (260-455 cubic inches). It boasts an all-new construction with a lightweight aluminum alloy housing, and meticulously crafted internal components including bronze sintered bushings and a corrosion-resistant shaft, all contributing to enhanced durability and reduced friction. The precisely ground distributor gear ensures optimal engagement with the camshaft. A key feature is its advanced high-energy module and coil, enabling consistent ignition beyond 7500 RPM, significantly exceeding the performance of standard HEI units. This results in 67% more energy and 45% faster spark breakdown, effectively doubling the energy delivered to the spark plugs. This robust spark allows for wider plug gaps, promoting a larger flame kernel for more complete and efficient combustion.
