5L40E/5L50E Transmission Valve Repair Kit

The TransGo 5L4-ACT-VL is a transmission valve repair kit designed for GM 5L40E and 5L50E automatic transmissions. This kit addresses wear in the actuator feed limit (AFL) and pressure regulator (PR) valve bores, which can cause various shifting issues. It includes precision-ground hardened steel valves with repositioned, longer lands for improved durability and support.

The Pressure Regulator valve regulates transmission line pressure, and wear can lead to erratic or incorrect line pressure, resulting in harsh or soft shifts, overheating, and converter clutch failure. The Actuator Feed Limit valve limits pressure to actuators, and improper feed pressure can cause incorrect shifts, wrong gear starts, or slip and friction burn.

This kit corrects issues such as wrong gear starts, slip in 4th and 5th, 3rd clutch failure, ratio codes (P0731-P0735), no movement when hot, oil out vent, and drain back. It includes a reusable reamer tool and two seal protector tools.
