6.0L to 7.3L Fan Clutch Adapter

The Bullet Proof Diesel Fan Clutch Adapter facilitates the conversion of your 6.0L diesel truck or van's electronic, computer-controlled cooling fan assembly to the robust mechanical fan clutch found on the 1997 Ford 7.3L diesel. This adapter allows the 6.0L fan to bolt directly to the 1997 7.3L fan clutch. While this setup does not illuminate the Check Engine light, it will result in a "soft-code" being set, which can be detected during a scan. The 7.3L fan clutch, when installed on a 6.0L, engages at a lower temperature (around 200°F) and may remain engaged longer than the factory electronic clutch. This increased fan engagement can lead to a noticeable decrease in fuel economy and more audible fan noise. This adapter is an excellent choice for fleets, company vehicles, and those involved in heavy towing applications who prioritize maximum cooling capacity, improved air conditioning performance, and cooler engine temperatures.
