The Brian Tooley Racing 6.2L L86/LT1 DOD Conversion Cam (BTR-2240006175) is engineered for Gen V LT 6.2L engines to facilitate the removal of the problematic DOD/AFM system. This camshaft features a hydraulic roller design with a 200/208 duration and .550"/.521" lift, utilizing a single bolt cam bolt style and a superior heat treatment for enhanced durability. Its primary function is to maintain and preserve the reliability of the Gen V truck platform by mimicking OEM valve events with a more stable lobe design, rather than aiming to increase peak power numbers. This camshaft requires a DOD Delete Kit to function correctly and is compatible with 5.3L L83 engines with a valve spring swap. Professional installation is recommended, as the vehicle's calibration must be adjusted to deactivate the DOD system. While dyno tuning may not be necessary due to minimal alteration of valve events from OEM levels, consulting with a tuner for DOD deactivation concerns is advised. Additional components may be required for installation, such as valve springs, seals, pushrods, VVT limiters, VVT phaser tools, pneumatic valve holding tools, and assembly lubricant.
