The JL Audio C7-650cw represents the pinnacle of automotive loudspeaker design, built with advanced development tools and precision manufacturing. This 6.5-inch component woofer is engineered for exceptional linear excursion and linearity, delivering solid mid-bass and pure, precise mid-range audio. Distortion and non-linearities are minimized through critical optimization of dynamic motor and suspension behaviors. The woofer features a vacuum-formed, mineral-filled polypropylene cone for excellent damping and low mass, paired with a gentle curvilinear profile for optimized response. Its suspension design includes a large-diameter, linear profile spider and a positive-roll rubber surround, providing optimum damping without restricting excursion. The motor design utilizes a high-density magnetic circuit with a Y35 Strontium-ferrite magnet and a T-Yoke topology, precisely optimized with FEA tools to reduce distortion. An oversized 32 mm (1.27 inch) voice coil, wound with copper wire on a fiberglass former, ensures extended power handling and minimizes thermal compression. Passive crossover networks are not included, as the C7-650cw is designed for active systems. The woofer is housed in a purpose-engineered cast alloy basket featuring thin spokes for maximized rear open area and JL Audio's Patented Elevated Frame Cooling technology.
