The CT Sounds TROPO-6-5-COX is a 6.5-inch shallow-mount coaxial speaker set designed to complement aftermarket subwoofer setups without drawing excessive power, allowing them to perform well even on head-unit power and without requiring a 4-channel amplifier. A key feature is their exceptionally shallow 1.81-inch mounting depth. This design addresses a common installation challenge in many vehicles (like Ford, Chevy, and Toyota models) where shallow speaker cavities can cause window glass to interfere with larger speaker magnets when the window is rolled down. Traditional spacers can lead to the speaker cone contacting the door panel; the Tropo 6.5” offers a solution to this problem at an 80-watt RMS power level. Constructed with a Black Vacuum Polypropylene cone and a 1.00-inch EISV voice coil on a Kapton bobbin, these 2-way speakers are built for durability and performance. They handle 40W RMS per speaker (80W RMS per pair) and 80W MAX per speaker (160W MAX per pair) with a single 4-ohm impedance, making them a suitable upgrade for those seeking to match their speaker output to their subwoofer setup or replace distorted factory speakers. The included specifications detail a frequency response of 30 Hz - 20 kHz for the woofer and 1500 Hz ~ 20 kHz for the 13mm black silk diaphragm tweeter. The set includes a crossover circuit utilizing a 3.3 μF Electrolytic Capacitor.
