Designed for spirited daily driving, consumer-level towing, and everyday use. Choate Engineering Performance remanufactures these engines with precision machine work to correct OEM flaws. Each engine block is CNC blueprint machined for perfect dimensions, precise tolerances, and optimal alignment, including decking the block surface for flatness (Ra 30 or better), diamond honing cylinders, line honing main bearing bores, and boring cylinder bores to a true 90-degree angle from the crankshaft centerline. The rotational assembly (crankshaft, connecting rods, pistons) is balanced to eliminate vibration. The crankshaft is checked for run-out, polished, and ground to strict concentricity tolerances (0.0005 or less). Rods are inspected and conditioned, and all bearing clearances are checked. Pistons, rings, and pin retainers are weight matched (to 2 grams or less) before crank balancing.
