The Derale 6 Pass Series 7000 Engine Oil Cooler Kit is tailored for GM V8 engines, offering a robust solution for street use. This universal kit features a high-capacity, 6-pass tube and fin style cooler constructed with durable copper tubes and aluminum fins. Its primary function is to significantly reduce engine oil temperatures, potentially by up to 50°F, which in turn helps extend the lifespan of critical lower end engine components and the oil itself. Additionally, this cooler system aids in reducing overall coolant temperatures. The kit includes a 180°F thermostatic sandwich adapter, which ensures optimal oil flow and temperature regulation. It also comes with 10 feet of 1/2" hose and all the necessary hardware for a complete installation. The cooler measures 16-5/8" wide, 7-5/8" high, and 3/4" deep. The sandwich adapter has a 3-1/2" O-ring size and a thickness of 2-1/4", with a 1/2" NPT inlet size. This Derale oil cooler kit is designed to fit most 1963-2007 GM V-8 applications, specifically those with engine block oil filter landings of 3-1/2", primarily Small Block and Big Block V8s. The Type C Sandwich Adapter is noted to fit most big block Chevy applications, though users are advised to consult the application guide for specific fitment.
