The calipers are constructed from a solid billet of aircraft-grade aluminum, offering a one-piece design that ensures lightweight strength and excellent corrosion resistance. They utilize aluminum pistons, which provide better heat resistance and maintain uncompromised operation. The opposed-piston caliper design is crucial for improving pad grip and minimizing uneven pad wear. Complementing the calipers are 2-piece, vented, and slotted rotors. These rotors feature an aluminum center to reduce rotational mass, leading to quicker braking response and shorter stopping distances. The 2-piece design also mitigates rotor warping by allowing for more unrestricted expansion and contraction of the outer iron section. This kit is recommended for performance and racing driving styles. Key specifications include 6-piston calipers, 380mm (15 inch) outside diameter rotors, and a requirement for a minimum 482.6mm (19 inch) wheel diameter. The calipers come in an orange finish and use street pads with a long-lasting, low-dust ceramic compound. Heavy-duty caliper seals are incorporated for sustained high-temperature racetrack use. Additionally, stainless steel brake lines are included to prevent expansion under high temperatures and pressures, resulting in faster pedal response. Reinforced carbon steel caliper brackets ensure these larger-than-OEM size calipers can be installed easily. The kit is specifically designed for the 2009-2013 Volkswagen Golf GTI MK6.
