The Ksport Supercomp Toyota MR2 Big Brake System is an extreme brake upgrade engineered to deliver maximum stopping power without requiring any vehicle modifications for installation. This sophisticated, bolt-on brake upgrade builds upon the benefits of their Procomp kit by incorporating larger calipers, rotors, and brake pads, along with an increased number of pistons. Each caliper is meticulously crafted from a solid billet of aircraft-grade aluminum, resulting in a lightweight yet exceptionally strong and corrosion-resistant component. The calipers feature aluminum pistons, which offer enhanced heat resistance and maintain uncompromised operation. An opposed-piston design ensures uniform brake pad grip and wear on both sides of the rotor. For added durability and performance, Ksport includes high-temperature seals, titanium brake pad retainer clips, and stainless-steel brake pad wear plates. The two-piece rotor design is a key feature, providing lightweight construction and fade-free performance suitable for both track use and comfortable daily driving. The center sections are crafted from 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum, reducing rotational mass for quicker stopping response. By allowing the outer rotor section to expand and contract independently, the risk of warping due to heat buildup is greatly minimized. The aluminum center sections also act as effective heat sinks, dissipating heat away from the rotor. This Supercomp system includes slotted rotors, recommended for vehicles that see more track use. The kit comes standard with DOT-compliant stainless-steel braided brake lines, which prevent expansion under pressure, leading to quicker pedal response and a firmer pedal feel compared to rubber lines. The included SC5 Street Pads offer optimal braking performance for street and occasional track conditions, while minimizing brake dust and rotor wear.
