The calipers are constructed from a one-piece solid billet of aerospace-quality aluminum, offering unparalleled strength, light weight, and resistance to corrosion. The aluminum pistons are protected with heavy-duty seals capable of withstanding racetrack temperatures, ensuring smooth operation and preventing drag. An opposed-piston design guarantees consistent brake pad grip and wear on both sides of the rotor, complemented by high-temperature seals, titanium brake pad retainer clips, and stainless-steel wear plates. Featuring a two-piece rotor design, these kits offer light weight and fade-free performance. This design also mitigates rotor warping due to heat expansion, and the aluminum center sections act as heat sinks. Cross-drilled rotors are recommended for daily-driven vehicles as they tend to run cooler, while slotted rotors are suggested for more track-oriented use as they help dissipate heat, dust, and gases more effectively. This specific kit (BKAU120-442CO) includes 356mm x 32mm rotors and 4-piston calipers. It comes standard with SC5 Street Pads, offering optimal performance for street and occasional track use with reduced dust and noise. An upgrade to RCI Race Pads is available for extreme track conditions. The kit also includes D.O.T. compliant stainless-steel braided brake lines, which prevent line expansion under pressure, leading to quicker pedal response and a firmer pedal feel.
