The RIPP Coil pack kit provides a comprehensive ignition system upgrade, converting your vehicle from a stock coil rail to a 6-post coil body. This system utilizes RIPP spark plug wires to connect the remote-mounted coil to each spark plug. It is designed as a complete plug-and-play, bolt-on solution, with an estimated installation time of approximately 1.5 hours. The RIPP Performance Coil Pack is engineered for the 4.0L I6 engine, offering 31% more power than the factory coil pack rail. This increased power delivery provides more energy to the spark plug, resulting in a more complete burn within the combustion chamber. Benefits include increased horsepower, improved gas mileage, and enhanced throttle response. Users can expect an average net wheel horsepower gain of 8-10 horsepower from this modification. The kit includes the RIPP High Performance Coil pack (a 3.8L unit adapted for XJ applications), a mounting bracket, a converter harness, and a RIPP Spark Plug Wire set. The coil pack itself features a heavy-duty primary core winding, a higher quality iron core with stronger laminations, and an increased amount of secondary core windings for sustained power delivery even at high RPMs. The kit also includes NGK spark plugs, known for improved ignitability and durability.
