6-Speed Automatic Transmission

The General Motors 6L90 is a fully remanufactured 6-speed automatic transmission, engineered to meet or exceed original equipment manufacturer specifications. This unit is backed by a 7-year, million-mile warranty, demonstrating a commitment to quality and reliability. The remanufacturing process is extensive, beginning with a complete teardown and triple cleaning of every transmission. All threads are chased, and new bushings are installed. The valve body is meticulously rebuilt and tested using a C.A.R.S. system that simulates real-world use. During reassembly, all new o-rings, gaskets, and seals are utilized. Finally, each transmission is subjected to custom dyno testing, which includes cold and hot load testing to verify its readiness for road use. This transmission features several performance and durability enhancements beyond OE standards. Fluid pressure and sealing are improved by resurfacing the fluid pump mating surfaces and installing an updated late-style stator support shaft to eliminate leaks. Durability is further boosted with an oversized AFL valve, boost sleeves, and an oversized PR valve in the valve body to restore critical pressure. It also includes an upgraded 38-element low sprag for increased strength. Precision machining, utilizing a Tru-Flat qualification process on the case, pump, valve body, and channel plate, ensures zero leaks and prevents pressure losses. The transmission is specifically designed for the 2009 Chevrolet Silverado/GMC Sierra HD and Suburban/Yukon XL 2500 models.
