6-Speed Sequential Transaxle with Limited-Slip Differential

The Albins ST6M-TRANS is a high-performance 6-speed sequential transaxle engineered specifically for mid-engine applications. It borrows the proven sequential gear section from the original ST6 but relocates the ring and pinion for optimal mid-engine placement. This unit features narrow drop gears at the rear and comes standard with a plate-style limited-slip differential. To minimize drag and enhance efficiency, the ST6-M is equipped with roller bearings and straight-cut, profile ground gears that have undergone shot-peening and isotropic polishing. Construction highlights include cast LM25 aluminum housings, heat-treated to T6 condition and stainless shot blasted, along with Albins Klingelnberg Palloid ring and pinion sets. All gears are shot-peened and isotropically finished for durability and performance. The transaxle also incorporates an internal oil pump and lubrication/cooling system, ensuring reliable operation under demanding conditions. Inspection ports are provided for easy visual checks of gear and dog wear without the need for disassembly. This transaxle offers built-in drop gears that allow for fast and economical ratio changes, with a wide selection of drop gears available to suit various needs. It supports both rod and cable shift activation, and comes standard with tripod-style output flanges, with CV flanges offered as an option. The innovative design facilitates very low engine mounting and provides exceptionally short shift event times. The ST6M-TRANS is rated for an input torque of 1000Nm, a nominal output torque of 4500Nm, and can withstand periodic bursts up to 6500Nm, demonstrating its robust capability for racing and high-performance applications.
