Overview

The TransGo 604 SHIFT KIT® is a valve body repair kit designed for specific automatic transmissions. It is intended for 1989 and newer Chrysler, Plymouth, Dodge, Eagle, Ram, Jeep, and Mitsubishi vehicles equipped with A604/41TE, A606/42LE, and 42RLE automatic transmissions that do not have a variable line pressure solenoid and sensor. This kit addresses common issues such as delayed engagement, and clunks during downshifts.

The TransGo 604 SHIFT KIT® Valve Body Repair Kit is engineered to resolve common issues in specific automatic transmissions, including delayed engagement in forward or reverse, and clunks during 4-3 and 2-1 coast downshifts. These problems often stem from worn seals or shrunken gaskets within the valve body. The kit includes several components to address these issues. A non-shrinking low/reverse piston housing gasket is provided to prevent leaks caused by aging. For models with aluminum accumulator pistons, TransGo-engineered accumulator piston seals and expander wires are included. Additionally, a specialized underdrive clutch piston Tuff™ Seal and a pressure regulator spring are supplied to update earlier valve bodies to revised pressure specifications. The TransGo 604 SHIFT KIT® is compatible with 1989 and newer Chrysler, Plymouth, Dodge, Eagle, Ram, Jeep, and Mitsubishi vehicles fitted with A604/41TE, A606/42LE, and 42RLE automatic transmissions that do not feature a variable line pressure solenoid and sensor. For vehicles equipped with a VLP solenoid and sensor, the # SK 42RLE-VLP kit is required. Common issues corrected by this kit include 2-1 and 4-3 coast downshift clunks, delayed or absent forward/reverse engagement, and accumulator leaks, ultimately providing shorter and cleaner shifts.
