6061 Aluminum Charge Pipe Kit

The Evolution Racewerks Charge Pipe Kit is designed to replace the weaker factory plastic charge pipe found in BMW B46 and B48 engines, which is prone to breaking under increased boost pressure. This kit is constructed from high-grade 6061 aluminum, ensuring superior strength and longevity, and is backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty. Optimizing intake airflow is crucial for throttle response, turbo lag, and overall power potential. This charge pipe kit utilizes mandrel-bent aluminum piping with smooth transitions to minimize obstructions. The upper charge pipe features a smooth transition from 2.5" at the turbocharger outlet to 3" to match the factory throttle body, preventing the flow restrictions found in competing 2.5" to throttle body designs. This results in improved throttle response and reduced turbocharger lag. The flanges on this charge pipe kit are CNC machined for precise fitment, and the entire assembly is TIG welded for exceptional strength and aesthetic appeal. The kit includes both the upper and lower charge pipes, which are both necessary for installation. It is available in three finishes: brushed, mirror polish, or a stealthy Type III Hard Black Anodizing, which also adds durability. This kit offers additional functionality with two 1/8" NPT threaded bungs welded to the diverter valve charge pipe, providing convenient ports for methanol injection or nitrous systems. Each bung includes a plug, allowing for use with or without injectors. These bungs can also serve as a boost source for gauges or other accessories, addressing a common need for N55 engine owners who lack an easy factory tap point. Note that Aquamist injectors use a different thread pitch, and special bungs are available upon request for those specific applications.
