The Forge Motorsport uprated front-mounted intercooler is a direct replacement for the factory unit, offering enhanced cooling performance whether used alone or in conjunction with Forge's "Twintercooler" kit. It utilizes a robust 650x400x50mm Bar and Plate core, designed to efficiently manage intake air temperatures. Extensive testing has demonstrated tangible performance benefits. On standard vehicles, this intercooler delivered an increase of +10hp and +29 ft-lbs of torque, alongside a reduction in inlet air temperature exceeding 20°C. These gains become even more pronounced when installed on tuned engines, unlocking greater potential. The intercooler features 63mm inlet and outlet tubes, compatible with Forge's twintercooler hoses. For installations without the twintercooler kit, Forge includes their FMKT010 silicone hoses for a straightforward setup. The original O-rings/seals must be retained for use with the Forge hoses. This intercooler is specifically designed for a range of 2.0L Turbo I4 models, including the VW Golf MK5 GTI (including ED30), MK6 GTI (including ED35), R, Audi A3 (8P) 1.8 TFSi and 2.0 TFSI, S3 (8P), TT (Mk2) 2.0 TSI, TTS (8J), Seat Leon Mk2 Cupra 2.0 TFSi, Skoda Octavia Mk2 1Z VRS 2.0 FSiT, Superb (2008-2013), and Scirocco R (2.0 up to 2016).
