Unlike the factory thermostat which opens at 76.5°C, this Nismo unit features a lower activation temperature of 68°C. By opening earlier, this thermostat promotes more rapid coolant circulation throughout the engine. This enhanced circulation is crucial for reducing the power loss often associated with rising coolant temperatures during high-speed driving, such as on a racetrack. The lower opening temperature is also strategically placed near the threshold for rich mixture enrichment, potentially aiding in low-temperature conditions. This product includes a replacement thermostat gasket and new O-rings for both the radiator drain plug and the coolant bleeder valve, simplifying installation. However, potential buyers should be aware that when the ambient air temperature is low, such as during winter, the engine's water temperature may not rise quickly, which could result in reduced interior heater performance. The compatibility list includes various Nissan 350Z (Z33) and Skyline (V35, PV35) models with the VQ35DE engine, as well as Nissan Stagea (M35) models. It is also compatible with Infiniti G35 models with the VQ35DE engine.
