69-72 Chevelle Steering Column Paintable

This retrofit steering column fits 1969-1972 GM A-Body vehicles with a keyed ignition. It does not require modifications to the original vehicle. Users remove the old column, saving the original under-dash and floor mounts. With an IDIDIT installation kit, the new column can be installed. An aftermarket steering wheel can be added with an adapter, and the gripping surface will be in the same location as the original. Note: the 1969-72 column lacks provisions for the OEM Neutral Safety Switch or indicator; an alternate method must be used. The ignition is excluded on 1969 & 70 GTO models.
